All of my handyman projects are measured in “liters and trips.” For example, installing a toilet is a 5/3 project (5 trips to Lowes, 3 liters of beer). Putting in a fence post or two is a 1/1 project. Today’s project was putting together my new Weber Natural Gas Grill. The grill is completely assembled now, but I don’t have all the connectors to hook it up to the natural gas line and fire it up. So far it’s a 1/1.5 project, but by the time it’s complete, I estimate it’ll be a 2/2.5. When you have slave labor at your disposal, the ratio can change dramatically, and in either direction.
